Zeus - Unda Da Influence [Street Remix]

Dr Zeus’ “Street Remixes” was released this past month world-wide. It is a 2-CD + DVD compilation of remixes of his past hits.

In a short and sweet way, all that needs to be said about this album is that it is a total disappointment. It is a useless release for the following reasons: (1) everyone and their mother has already remixed Zeus tracks on DJ releases, mix tapes, and compilations, (2) unless you are a fan of high energy and rap, this release has nothing to offer you, (3) what’s with the gora titles for the tracks? What the hell kind of a title for a track is “Rings Forever?”

There is way too much rap on this album, to the point that the tracks lose their Desi feel. The only decent remixes in my opinion are the remixes to “Kangna (Your Bangles),” “The Village Boys,” and “Tin Cheejha (Three Things).” which is a hip hop twist on a previously quality Desi track. Overall, this is a crap release from Zeus, but we will still look forward to his upcoming solo release (hopefully) in 2006. Since it did have three decent tracks, this album gets punjabisongs.com’s 4 out of 10 and is a definite no buy for 2006.
